About METU
Middle East Technical University (METU) is a public research university in Ankara, Turkey. Renewable energy is one of five research thrusts in METU’s 2011-2016 Strategic Plan. METU was established with a strong international mission, and METU is the leading university in Turkey in terms of depth and breadth of international ties and the amount of funds generated from international research projects.

In 2014 the Times Higher Education (THE) of England ranked METU as the 3rd best university in the world and the best in Turkey in the BRICS & Emerging Economies Rankings 2015, and the 85th best university in the world and the best in Turkey in the World University Rankings 2014-2015.
